Hello.
I know we have a few programmers in here. Would anyone be able to make a small program for a mobile phone, that makes short random "mixing up" algorithms?
My phone is able to run .jar files. I guess that for some of the programmers in here, it should be very easy.
Thanks!

Thats great! Taken pride of place at the top of my applications list, thanks.
I should look at the german speedcubing club more often!

Does it work well for you? I haven't tried it myself yet... Michel would certainly be happy about feedback if you have some.

It works perfectly for me, tell him its exactly what I wanted, and thanks. Produces random samples at the touch of a button, its great!

Any chance this alg prog is possible using TI-83 calculator language?
Its a pretty simple language, and I can create basic math-programs to solve repetitive methods (quad formula, newton's method, euler's etc) but randomness seems somewhat out of my scope. If anyone can figure this one out, I'm sure all the math students that cube would bow down chanting in the various extinct classical languages (including but not limited to latin, greek, ancient hebrew), hail, hail, hail, in beautiful dominant 7th chord progressions reminiscent of romantic era art.
Uh... I mean, I'd really appreciate such a prog
PS, maybe instead of a totally random generator, plug in a number and it spits out an alg, eg:
input 1
output uf'dlr aflkjopdijgalneg etc...
that way you can just go through random numbers, or go 1, 2, 3, each one giving a different alg?

My TI-82 has a rand function you can use in programs. It's under MATH->PRB->rand.

After reading your post, I wrote one for my my TI-83 plus. It's compatible with the 83 and 83 plus. It displays five lines with five moves each, because the output doesn't wrap around the screen. It also checks for one move back for repeats, and two back in case the previous move was the opposite face. Btw, you can distribute and edit this prgram, just don't take credit for it.
