We drove to a city about 100 km away for the afternoon. While waiting in my car waiting for my spouse to finish shopping, I was solving my Crazy 4x4 that I had hastily grabbed on the way out the door. I hadn't solved it in a while and I was a bit bogged down on inserting the circular centres (the round parts). Suddenly I heard a voice say, "You should solve it fast!". I looked over and there was an elderly man sitting in a truck next to the passenger side of my car. He repeated "You should solve it fast!" and made a hand motion like solving a cube. I told him he was right, that I was being slow today. Then, with obvious pride, he told me, "It was invented in Hungary". The man went on to tell me that he also has a few cubes and can do them fast. The arrival of his spouse ended our conversation far too soon, but it was interesting to meet - and get heckled by - another puzzle enthusiast!
Please tell me about your strange, funny or odd encounters due to puzzling!
