Osama is dead, but it's unfortunate the world is celebrating.
Those of you who know me know that I am not very religious, but I have been raised, and am raised as a Jew, to believe that a loss of life is not an occasion for celebration.
What I've found with Judaism, is that if you filter out the preachy-god stuff, you actually have a very sturdy moral code. One of the many values I have learned is that a lost life is never an occasion for celebrating, and I gather this from the ten drops of wine at passover.
The focus of that practice, if you will, lies in the tenth plague; the death of the first-born. We drain our cups a tiny amount so that we honor the death of the sons of the tyrants. They were cruel, yes, but we do not revel in their death.
I do not defend Osama, he was a horrible person and, frankly, deserved to die. I would not have it another way. There is no other way. However, it is not an occasion to be ecstatic about. It is historic. We'd best leave it at that.
I would like to know your opinions about his demise.

And sadly, I am locking this thread. I see nothing good coming from this.
Please DO NOT start another on the same topic. I will not hesitate to ban without warning.
Politics, religion, and/or glorification is all that I foresee in this type of posting, and there really is no place for it on the forum. If I am over ruled by Dave, Sandy, or Jin then fine. But for now. I'm the moderator on line. Sorry guys, discuss it somewhere else please.

I'll back Rox up on this one. Nothing against NType3 but some topics are natural bait for elements of the forum that have shown difficulty controlling themselves. This isn't an unimportant issue or discussion but doesn't need to be held here. Dave
