Minecraft: Redstone

Two questions in one:

First, I was wondering if there were any Minecraft players out there?

Second, do you crafters use redstone? I've been trying to make various... things (for lack of a better word) in minecraft with redstone (see image below).

How did you get that large plot of flat land?

I just used a map editor and made it. I only use it for testing redstone circuits though. On my friend's server, I dug out a room big enough to hold the entire thing.

I play Minecraft, and am a big fan. Me a my friends are attempting to set up a server that'll be loads of fun. I'll try and post more information when it's up and running.

Anyways, I am not good with redstone, at all. I made one redstone circuit that took me a whole 24 hours to get working. It was too confusing. Then, after the redstone inverter was released, I never attempted redstone again.

This is a hobby I just don't dare try addicting myself to. I get exactly how the lock works and I get the mechanics of the game, but I would be addicted if I played it.

I absolutely love MineCraft, but I never got into SMP because my brother's computer isn't good enough to play online at a reasonable framerate. I have my own Texture Pack though.

I've toyed around with redstone, but I've never made anything complicated. There's actually a really simple way to make a combination lock using just a giant OR gate, and some NOT gates to set the combination:

The ones that have the restone torch attached to the block have to be on, and the ones without have to be off. To change the combination, you just have to replace a few torches and wires.

That's basically what I did, but I wanted to make it easily resettable without having to see wires
