just for fun I made this vid to see if my times are any good and to show off what I made from store-bought rubik's cubes.

I made a thread about solving and this is the best I could get with cube explorer
these are finishing moves for people who dont use the beginner method or if you made a mistake on U. two faces is usually not needed but I was bored and this is what I got so here it is.

Not optimal, but for <UR> i prefer this:

(U2 R2 U' R2 U2 R')*3

I like this one since i only turn the faces with the centers to be effected. And it is a short sequence applied 3 times over ...

You say it takes half the time to solve a normal cube... solving the orientation of the raised centres shouldn't take that long. Maybe around 12s.. if 2s per centre..

well if I use fidrich, I finish with one of the algs I posted to finish U center and sometimes UR centers. if I use the beginner method, I have to read it off a piece of paper. building the cross takes a little longer cause I have to orient the 5 centers. I can do an optimal cross at inspection but not if I have 5 centers to solve. also this is not a speed cube. its a rubik storebought that has never been broken in. whats your time? I'm bringin this to newark so mabey we'll do some timed solves.

I do PLL x2 cause I dont know them all and I know I would be better off with the beginner method at this point. oh well. no time to learn PLL's when I just got a 5x5 and a nice 4x4.
