This puzzle has already been made under the name Rua.
This puzzle (which I had always referred to as "Rhombido") was originally designed and prototyped in 2003, but it was not published until last year. Since the creator of the Rua published first, I was trying to respect that fact by using what I think of as the generic "
FTRD" (face turning rhombic dodecahedron) rather than giving it an entirely new name. Perhaps I was over-thinking things.

What screws are needed exactly? M3x20?
I'm not actually sure what size the screws are, although I think they're close to M3. They are the "New Screw & Spring Set" screws from Cube4You. The link is provided in my Shapeways shop.

One of your Rhombic-16 puzzles is on the way to me from Shapeways.
Other than the fact that in addition to rhombic face turns the Rhombic-18 also does 4-fold vertex turns, are there differences in the way the two puzzles work?
Thanks for buying one of my puzzles, and I hope you like it! The only difference is indeed the 4-fold vertex turns, but the mechanism had to be altered substantially to allow those turns. Some of the internal parts had to be split into multiple pieces, which is why it became too large to fit into one Shapeways model.
