After a long wait on the packaging I can finally offer the Breadbox puzzle for sale.

Price is $40 with free world wide shipping (tracking and insurance extra).

The CD tins were supposed to arrive in mid November but didn't get here until after XMas.

I bought my Breadbox from David Litwin a couple of weeks ago and today I have published its review in my blog. I really liked the challenge (or challenges) and the presentation of the theme is very well done. Congratulations to David for a great puzzle. Keep up your good work. Indeed. All have been sold.

I may consider building another small batch in the future given how well these sold but it would take some time (ordering the wood, shop time, cleanup of the pieces, etc.).

Out of curiosity: Would anyone be interested in this puzzle in acrylic instead of wood? That would make it cheaper (materials and cleanup), but I don't know that it would be nearly as appealing. The wood gives the "crust" look when lasered and the colors match wheat, white and pumpernickel bread coloring nicely.

Why not put it on Ponoko and have the work done for you?

I think the acrylic would ruin the purpose of the theme, unless you find a way to paint it. I googled about this, and apparently, it's possible. Don't know how it would look in the end, though. Would it be the same price or lower? I don't know about material costs, but I'm assuming it would be cheaper to produce.

Acrylic would make sense if you could change the theme to something other than bread. I can't think of a good theme with a similar shape though.

I suppose I could give that a try, but it would mean a lot of testing: The tolerances are very tight, and when cut by them I would have to see how it came out. When I do it myself, I test every puzzle by hand before selling it. But it seems worth looking into, thanks!

Yes, for those still awaiting their puzzle or who haven't solved it yet, the tolerances are _extremely_ tight. It's amazing how the puzzle can even be made in the first place.
