Recently I decided to give casting another whirl after enjoying the casting of a 3x3x4 last year. I have to say that casting is actually rather enjoyable once you get the hang of it. And with that I've decided to make a limited run of the puzzle. How limited? However many number of orders I receive within the next week, plus five more. The extra five will only end up in the hands of close lifelong friends of mine or their kin and one or two or those may possibly end up where you may not expect them. Once the week is up I'll announce how many orders were taken so that the bean counters can get an idea of how many will ultimately be out in the wild. Hopefully I'll be able to save face and announce that at least six will be built in total but hopefully not too many as that would just give me a headache. One of this batch is already out in the wild, so to speak, but no one else will see it for quite a few years. How to order: Send me an email with the following subject "3x3x4 order" to chrono (at) chrono (dot) org (please note that this is my email address). Include name, country of origin, and approximately when you want it (i.e. now or later, later meaning up to two months or so from now). Orders will generally be filled on a first come, first served basis. All pieces are resin cast from molds made from my original masters. The core of the puzzle however is modified by hand (about 10 pieces). I just can't get myself to make a puzzle entirely from casting. Seems somehow wrong for me to do that. Here's a picture link to two unstickered 3x3x4s and are essentially ready to go. There are parts available for four more ready to go as well but the cores haven't been build yet. Production will run for up to two months or so, as needs dictate. http://chrono.org/puzzlepics/3x3x4-castings.jpgPrice is $223 (That's US dollars) which will include shipping to anywhere that airmail can reasonably reach you. Standard discounts apply (if you have to ask, you probably don't get a discount ). Just like the Ford Model T automobile, you can have your 3x3x4 in any color you like as long as that color is black. As usual, payment is only due when the puzzle is ready. A Master Pyraminx is worth a lot more then a Skewb Diamond.

It much be pretty big. I'm thinking the Master Pyraminx is closely related to the Master Skewb. After all, one nickname for the Skewb is the Pyraminx Cube...

The master pyraminx is much closer related to the regular skewb. And infact can be considered an intermediate mod of a skewb diamond. To transform a master skewb into a master pyraminx would take alot more work.

I've never even seen or held one. but I dont have the money to buy it i wish i did this is my favorite cuboid

The skewb diamond was in part necessary because the extensions are hollow and of consistent proportion. Starting from scratch in some ways would improve its look just a touch (the skew diamond has really rounded tips...) but I think it's fine for a hand made one-shot puzzle I intend to keep for myself lest people find out just how pathetic my collection of puzzles has become. I just can't seem to leave good puzzles alone and many end up in ziplock bags after being broken down. Ultimately I would prefer to use something else but for how it is a good base for such a puzzle... But it is a bit off topic. I'll release pictures of the finished puzzle within a week or so. When it's actually finished. But it's close.

Very hard to get it just right.
