I've added several pieces of information to the Museum regarding up-to-date prices for puzzles that I have recently purchased via auction, but the pages don't seem to update.

I keep checking back every now and again, but still no update. Have I done something wrong or has a content moderator gone on holiday or the like?

I think that Andreas is responsible for the updates, and he is on holiday in August. Just be patient.

All good then! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something or doing it wrong.

After I contacted Sandy some things happened:

1. I learned that "Price moderator" is a different job than "Museum moderator".
2. I was granted the rights for accepting prices as well.
3. I looked into the list of currently pending entries.

Results so far:
There were 160 pending entries.
120 of the entries were spam.
25 were Ebay auctions and accepted.

The remaining 15 were complicated. Some cited prices from commercial sites (these prices should have gone to "Original price") Some prices were unprobable (e.g. Scramble cube for 9001 USD). I modified these entries or deleted them

For you, the audience, that means:
1. If you remember your submission please check whether I recognized it.
2. Start submitting new prices.

Andreas

I think it's really great that the prices are going to be updated again!

Andreas you are a glutton for punishment! All of your work here is greatly appreciated.

I have some queries of the newly added information though:

- Will's Copter 3x3 is listed as $75 but on Shapeways it is $165 (I had to check as it seemed too good to be true!!)
- Did Eitan's Defti really sell for $926 in May 2012, after its mass production had been announced?

By the time the museum was created there were almost no puzzles publicly available, except the ones of Mefferts and a few others.
Therefore "original price" was to contain the price a buyer had to pay in the eighties when most of the puzzles in the museum surfaced.
"Current price" contains an average value generated from the list of "Price Tracking Data" which was intended to collect prices from Ebay-sales, private deals, flea markets, etc.

Nobody ever thought about the case where a puzzle was first available through shapeways and later massproduced, like the Defti.
Nobody thought about the case where a puzzle was massproduced, then became a highly sought after item, then became massproduced and rare again, like the Dogic.

Maybe "Current price" should be renamed into "Price in private deals" to make clear.
But this can be done only by Sandy.

Hi Andreas

I understand the difference between original price and current price.

My query was:

The price of Will's Copter 3x3 on shapeways is $165 not $75 - 1 set of the two sets needed to make the puzzle is $75 but the complete puzzle is $165. Was the one in the Museum sold for $75 total?

For Eitan's DEFTi the sale date is listed as May 18th 2012. Is that correct?

I realise your job is extremely difficult and I'm not trying to cause you grief - I'm just wondering if the information provided in these two instances is accurate?

As far I could check it months later, they are correct.
