Hi everyone, I had a nice correspondence with Jay Horowitz, the owner of Ideal's rights. He plans to release the Rubik's Brain again, but it will be nice to know of some feedback regarding people's interest. I know Jay after I luckily bumped to him in both the Hong Kong and Nuremberg Fairs and he is great guy with a kid's enthusiasm. It is more of a game, which is similar (but not same) to Mastermind, but it is rare enough to not be in my collection. Here is a flyer of the puzzle/game: Attachment:

So.... what do you think? Pantazis

Hmm, looks interesting! Is it more challenging than Mastermind? I always found that too easy.

I for one, would like a re-release of Rubik's Brain, it looks really interesting. Also, I like the fact that it comes with nine 1x1x1 mini cubes, just like Rubik's Race! On a side note, I really like Mastermind, but I like my Rubik's Illusion even more! Skarabajo.

It looks like a pretty un-fun game from a first look. I have never touched, or seen one. It looks like it has many pieces that would be easy to lose. I agree that they should reproduce real puzzles, like the domino. I think it would be a very good seller.

Edit: Just ignore this post, I got it confused with another puzzle by a similar name

To me it just looks like a bigger version of mastermind. I live in a house with younger children (I'm only 16 myself) and I'd be very likely to lose the pieces. I have no interest in this and I don't see it as a puzzle so much as a board game of sorts. My personal opinoin is no. I wouldn't buy this because of the aforementioned reasons (Ad that I'm saving up for a bagillion other puzzles, despite not being able to afford the first on the list yet).

Based on it looking similar to Mastermind, I'd say, yes rerelease it. However, I don't see it being that big of a seller, and I'd hate for it to be a money loser.

I'm another person leaning on the "No" side of the fence. This game is an interesting curiosity at best, and a cheap Mastermind clone at worst. I could only see this board game making money during the fad years of the Rubik's Cube, and I'm not at all surprised this disappeared when the fad died. When will Rubik/Ideal realize its untapped potential for publishing interesting twisty puzzles on a big scale? That's what makes it unique. If the company makes board games, it becomes just like everyone else. And the Rubik's Domino should be at the top of the list for a remake. Kastellorizo, please let Jay know how much support there is out here for the Rubik's Domino over the Rubik's Brain. You could leave out the "cheap Mastermind clone" part, though.

I don't think the good Dr. explained Jay's position well enough. He ISN'T Ideal, nor is he associated with the company. If I remember, his company is called American Clasic Toys, or something along those lines. (help me if I'm wrong here Dr.) He BOUGHT the rights to many of their old toys and games. The one's they made back when I was a kid. He is now in the process of re-releasing some of these well loved favorites of the "older generation".
Just how may twisty puzzles he has the rights to is not known (by me anyway), it would be nice if he brought back some of the older puzzles, but who knows.
And while I'm thinking about it, did Ideal ever release the domino, or was it only Polytoys? I've never seen a domino box that says Ideal. Georges, Geert do either of you know?

I have no idea if Ideal ever produced it, but I did find this patent, which would suggest that only Polytoys produced it.

I'd like to see these reproduced, especially if success results in more classic puzzles being produced. I've never had the opportunity to get my hands on one of these.
