EDIT: I got some more resin and finished it up today. A sign shop sold me a huge load of vinyl for $20 so I made my own stickers. It is stickered in 6 colors. Pics: Dino Cube? Nope! The innards Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIpgF7QHmMAHere is another work in progress build that I started on Friday. I don't think it has been built before, at least not with this mechanism. I call it the Rhombiminx. Right now I have 14/24 parts casted. The puzzle is quite a beast, since the pieces are casted solid, and it is sucking up quite a bit of resin. I may not finish on this bottle of resin, so I figured I'd post a Work In Progress thread here to show what it is in case it is a month or so until I get more resin. Next time I will make the parts hollow or partially hollow. I tried to do that before but it just wasnt working too good, and with the solid parts I get at least a 90% success rate.

Mine functions like a 2x2x4 extended on all sides. In other words, its just like solving the centers of a supercube.
Mine is different from Ton's, as his has corners. Mine is similar to an extended Babyface cube.

It has also been made before.
Congratulations on a nice build.

It is not the best quality but it is still amazing.

Original post updated with pics.
Look for this on ebay soon. I want to make another one with better pieces (ie. less gaps)

I think it would make it look really good if you sprayed it black, because the pieces look quite rough where they're sanded

That wouldn't really fix the sanding marks. I have a neighbor with a bench grinder/polisher that I'm going to talk to about smoothing out the parts. That would mean ruining the stickers though

I suppose not, but because sanding dulls the shinyness of the plastic, spraying it black again gives more contrast between it and the stickers and a more glossy look.

I used my neighbors polisher to get rid of most of the sanding lines. I also redid the stickers. Now the puzzle looks great! I am probably going to sell it soon, and I have an idea on how to make the octahedron version of this puzzle.
