Got 2 of them from Meffert today and had no trouble thanks to your suggestions here swapping out the pieces. I even sliced some of the tiles and rearranged them so each color has a front and back. And it's BIG! Big enough to solve without cramps in my hands. Now I can finish the little 8-color one with the Swkeb Diamond Tiles I bought. These look so great I may never put them on eBay.

That's cool that you took the effort to do that. I would never want to make one for the 2 reasons.
1) there is no good standing position.
2) Similar to the Alexander's star, when some of my friends see it in a solved state, it still seems mixed up in their eyes. They aren't looking at the flat portion but that piece that sticks out of the flat portion and thinks that it should match as well.
