I gave some hints in the The "hints of secret ideas".

Now I reveal the secret.
This puzzle is a normal megaminx, just made from paper.
Also probably this is the largest megaminx ever. (correct me if not!)



Idea:
The first Rubik Hungarian Open was held at 2008. There was an event called „Puzzle Building” It was similar of the „Puzzle design” event at the Rubik Euro 2012 Wroclaw. At there I entered with a Paper cube (among some others). That was the most difficult puzzles I ever made by hand. So I decided to make something similar to this event. And then the idea came. I make a megaminx from Paper.

How it’s made?
The first was the designing a 3D model of a simple Megaminx. For this I have received some help from Grégorie Pfennig. Thanks!
This model was uploaded to a program called „Papacura designer”. This program unfolded the puzzle parts, and ad some extra parts to help to glue the pieces together.
At first I print some sheets from this, and start to hand cut all the pieces, but it turned out, that it is not enough perfect, and the pieces are too small. Then as solution all the 2d pieces was redrawn by myself in CorelDraw, and scale up to their final size. To make all the pieces perfect, they where cut out from large sheets of paper by a special laser cutter.
The hard work was to glue all the parts together with super-glue. I used 3 5g bottle of super-glue. Almost all the pieces where in two or more halves so it was total of 221 small pars! (30x2 edges, 20x2 corners, 12 center caps, 12x4 centers, 12x5 axis and 1 core) It took me 2,5 month!
After all the pieces where ready, they where sanded down to avoid as much lockups as possible. around 1 week of work.
When it was designed I did not decide whether I want it white or in black body, but finally I decided black, so all the pieces where painted to black. For this I used 2 cans of black acrylic base paint sprays.
At last I’ve applied the stickers. (made by myself)

Brilliant! I love the size and the different approach to building it.
You say it's made from paper yet talk about using superglue and sanding it. Have I misunderstood something?

I'm not say it is made only from paper.
I have used superglue to glue together the parts.
Sending down the sharp edges, and the superglue what went to the outer surface. It is needed to prevent as much lockup as possible.
But of course it is not well turnable.
You need at least 4 hands...

Amazing work Oliver! As a fan of paper modelling I find this very impressive. I keep promising myself to build a 3x3x3 cube but have never finished the work. After seeing this, I have lost all interest What next? It must be a Hexaminx!

I don't remember exactly the paper weight I made it from, but I think it was 200g,
so not standard thin paper.

Pepakura is the best thing for papercrafting ever!
where do you get your paper? there are a few models I want to make but all I have is regular printer paper

I suppose there are "Paper shop" in your country as well.
I went to one of these shops, and lift / try some papers, and choose one that I assumed would be ok.
But: I did not cut the paper by hand. It is laser cut! It is much easier and much more precise!

Cheat! That cannot count as a proper paper model unless you have cut and scored all of the pieces by hand BTW, have you seen that 3D printer that uses ordinary paper as the medium. It laser cuts each sheet and then glues the sheets together to form the object.

also I have received this answer from Greg regarding the .pdo files:
"Pepakura doesn't export, it only imports. All I did was send you a screenshot of what pepakura did with the stl files."
I suppose because it was a demo version. (?)
