Greg's 3x3x14 World record

Today I can show the largest 3x3xn Twisty puzzle of the world.

Greg designed it 4 weeks ago. This was the first cuboid in the series.

It will be available at my shapeways shop and the stickers you can order at Olivers shop.

I'm glad this doesn't shape shift, that tower of single cubies sticking out would be terrifying to see :shock:

A cuboid is capable of shape changing when ( two or more edge unit lengths are different and odd ) or ( two or more edge unit lengths are different and even ) excluding cuboids with a side of one.

And Claus: You told us these puzzles are missing from your collection. I thought you meant filling the gaps in your logical collection, but I can't think of any series where this one would be 'missing'!

Sjoerd, I filled the gaps of the 4x4x8 and 4x4x9 this week. The 3x3x14 was a bonus.

Yes, I know what you will reveal (Or at least some of them). And that's the one I like the most in this job / hobby. But some times when I receive a template I can't imagine what will the puzzle look like.
Or like in this case, You only order simple 3x3x3 sets, but the outcome is something really different.

Ok guys you all like a puzzle so I want to see a list of possibilities (before tomorrow). I don't want to spoil the surprise but Claus may have let his Main Coone out of the bag.

Easy! It's a 1x5x14, 1x7x10, 2x5x7, 1x2x35 or a 1x1x70. Not-shapeshifting excludes the 2x5x7 so my bet is on the 1x2x35.

They all seem rather unlikely to me. Claus, do you count internal cubies too? (so this one would have 3*3*14 cubies?) Then the candidates are 4x7x7, 1x14x14, 1x7x28, 2x2x29, 1x4x29, 1x2x19. 4x7x7 seems more likely to me.

We also know that there is factually a 50% chance it will be a world record. Since we are talking a lot of cubies I think we can raise this probability higher.
Are we certain if Claus meant 70 more cubies than the 3x3x14 or 4x4x14?

Noe of those match because Claus made a slight mistake. If you count the mechanism, it has 100 pieces more (103 without internal bandageing for misalignment correction)
It has 70 more *external* pieces.
