We have seen hybrids with this axis system but not one with these depths of the cuts.

How suitable would a puzzle like this be for mass production? (if this question can even be answered!)

Also - is there a reason the flower copter was not made available on shapeways but this one is?

Because I was to modify the internal structure of the flower copter, hope can be more smooth and sturdy

Absolutely brilliant! I love the overall appearance of it, and although generally I'm not keen on pillowed puzzles, the pillowing really doesn't give the puzzle something more. Absolutely wonderful.

Ok I'm slow... just today I was looking at Greg's DeCETH and realized it had the same cut pattern as this one. Looks like Sigurd beat me to the punch with that observation. I'm now curious who will combine these. You could have a face turn, corner turn, and edge turn puzzle all neatly rolled into one. Another example which could have this property would be the helicopter cube / 2x2x2 / Skewb combo.

Carl, mixing Deceth and DC3x3 is just crazy lol, I think it's possible with a 10cm puzzle but it would lock up all the time and wouldn't turn well at all

You are probably correct. Still I think it would be a fun thing to try and design and with TomZ or Oskar you might be surprised. Even if it didn't work I bet the design would be very interesting to look at. Come to think of it I'm not sure I've seen the mech for either the Deceth or the dolimo Coner 3x3. I guess I can piece it together from the pics on your Shapeways shop here:

Either of you designers want to post 3D pdf's of your designs? I'd love to get a better look at the insides but trust me I would understand why you might not want to do that. Figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
