Hi,

This is just a simple sticker modification of a 4x4, to transform it into a 4x4 supercube in a clean and quick way.

Please note that this was not originally my idea. I saw it recently in a Spanish forum, where the author (MacrossDreams) made the mod by cutting out part of the original stickers.

I wanted to try it myself, but adding black sticker lines instead. And here is the result:

A very easy sticker mod, but quite effective. You just need some leftover black stickers, a xacto knife, and a bit of patience (... and a 4x4)




Cube looks nice, and it is a good, quick and nice alternative for a 4x4 supercube (imho, much better than a simple arrow cube)

This can't turn on the added line. Those are just stickers on the surface. However that does give me an idea. If you did bandage an 8x8x8 in such a way that its sticker patern looked just like this will you have in effect turned an 8x8x8 into a Super 4x4x4 or something more? I can see where the added cuts can turn in the solved state but its not clear to me if you'd actually be able to use these cuts to scramble the puzzle. Hmmm... now I want an 8x8x8 so I can try this.

Exactly, that's just a stickering pattern. There are no added cuts.

As bandaging a 8x8 goes, I believe the cuts (or unbandaged pieces) would allow for some scramble, but the fact that the wrapping intersections are not centered (after all, it's a 4x4 not a 5x5) will probably limit it.

Without making sure it relevantly adds to the complexity, I wouln't risk bandaging an 8x8 ... That's not a cheap puzzle
