Here is my little present to the twisty comunity. I even made a hint about it

This is the result of many designed versions of a 1x3x5.
After a year or two I finally decided a while ago that I'd finally get on to making one.
So I went ahead and took the designs I had and took the best from them and designed a few versions. One problem I've had was how to keep the corners from hanging loose, there is really not much place core rails so I simply had to make the design rigid.
In fact it is so well made that I had problems assembling it and when it was assembled it turned out to work even before I had put the screws in. The parts kept them self in place.

But did not know how well it would work until it was all painted and assembled.
And all I have to say is that it surpassed my expectations.
It is rigid and turns smooth, you can even fingertrick and cut corners with it.

Absolutely brilliant work. I love the simplicity. It appears to be 3D printed; does this mean we can expect to see this on Shapeways?

Indeed I am.
I don't want to offend him or anybody else. But there is some diference in looks and functionality.

Thanks :)
That's correct, WSF with paint and laquer on it.
I'm not sure if I wan't to make it for sale on shapeways, although I might sell assembled puzzles myself.

Question: did you paint the entire surface of all the pieces? It looks like the inside (mech part) is painted too.
If you decide to sell them, you should ask Claus and Door for permission first. And if you get that granted, how much do you think you would charge for a finished one?

All parts have been painted seperate to make sure nothing is left white. First with a marker and then with too many layers of spray paint.
I will sell both 1x3x5 and 5x5x7 eventually, I just have to figure out a good way to do it first.
When the time comes for that I will of course ask them. But don't forget the matter of fact that exept the way of turning, there is not really much that is similar between mine and theirs.
