I guess it's about time i get on with a new puzzle.
Allrtough, you can't really say that this is a new one, it's more like a refined version of an existing puzzle.
Those if you who attended at DCD this year should allready have seen it, but for those who didn't I present you my 4x4x2 version 3.25

This is the 5th built and 8th designed 4x4x2 based on my design, so we can say that it has some history behind it.
The puzzle was designed in July 2011 and printed by shapeways in October 2011. The core is a mini Eastsheen 2x2 and the stickers were made by Oliver Nagy.
Those who have bought a 4x4x2 v3.2 know how hard it is to modify the 2x2 to fit as a core, So when I got a request to make a 4x4x2 for a customer, I was to lazy to do the 2x2 modification again, so I went ahead and redisigned the centers to fit directly onto the inside corners of the 2x2.
The result of this little change was stunning, not only did it make assembling much easier, it allso made the puzzle more stable.
The reason I managed to make it better without even touching the mechanism is because this design is depending on perfect allignment to work propperly, this is something I failed with when I made my 3.1. But now when no modification is needed it removes the risk for missalignment thus increasing stability and movement.
The puzzle is for sale on shapeways
