see my old puzzle: Burr Cube (aka advanced Wall Cube) I posted this before on other forums, 24 may 2009
the cube is much more difficult, it is hard to full scramble! puzzle is very interesting - I recommend to try it.

You can easily simulate this in the UMC

massproducts version there: Brand - CubeTwist
Mr. Meffert recently started selling the puzzle:) I'm glad to see it in the public domain!

I was able to understand the principles and logic of the puzzle and solve it. this is very exciting and a challenge!
the same way I was able to perform the transformation of "Wall Cube" <-> "Burr Cube", I found the formula in 150 steps
(If you want to get the classic "Wall Cube", you can buy "Burr Cube" from Meffert and perform this conversion)
but I want to warn "Wall Cube" and "Burr Cube" is not the same! "Burr Cube" puzzle more difficult.

There is no differences at all between wall cube and burr cube.
Reorganize F, B, L and R side so that any move is possible. Then perform, L'R. Then you have a domino and you must be able to rotate two opposite centers in a few moves (hint: There's a Jperm on square-1 that can solve a Tperm if applied on a cube or a domino. Thus, Tperm - M2 - Tperm - M2=> wall cube to burr cube).

Turn the puzzle around 90 degrees. They appear to be the same.

I did not understand from your explanation ...

I did some research:
1. On forum TwistyPuzzles.com nobody has done this puzzle before
2. On forum MF8 one guy had already made such a puzzle - September 28, 2009:
http://bbs.mf8.com.cn/viewthread.php?ti ... ube&page=1
but he published it after me - May 24, 2009

thanks for the descriptive video (GIF). It seems that there are some set up moves, followed by the excecution of a rsimple repeated sequence, then the setup moves are undone. I ordered one from Mefferts; has not arrived yet. Are there any tutorials anywhere online for solving this beast?

My way to change a wall cube into burr cube:

Hold your wall cube the same way as the animated gif above and perform :
- U' Dw D' F' B (to be in a domino configuration)
- R2U'R2UR2yR2UR2U'R2Uy' (that's a Tperm on a domino. it's 11htm if you adapt it to a FM 3x3x3 solve. It's a Jperm on a square-1. and it rotate U center 90° clockwise)
- M2 to switch centers from U and D face
- R2U'R2UR2yR2UR2U'R2Uy' to rotate D center and get corners and edges back into place
- M2 to get U and D centers back in place
- B' F D Dw' U

That's 34 HTM

Thanks ofapel, interesting method - lead to the domino wall cube

I read your forum, and I see that you mention the possibility of turning centers on Wall Cube,
but you have made this state a new (more complex than the wall cube) Puzzle - Burr Cube and did not show her picture.
in any case - you had it in hand before me;)

Thanks for updating me about the naming.
We have just revised the cube name as below,
CT 4x4x4 Burr cube Black Body

We shall have them in stock early next week, and then start to post the orders.
Cheers. ^^

Wall cube/Burr cube solve is a succession of cuboid solve.
The last step is to solve a domino so you could either solve it in a wall cube way or in a burr cube way? What is more complex?

Have I got this wrong?
Why have HKnow and Mefferts both started selling both the Wall Cube and the Burr Cube as seperate items?
This thread clearly demonstrates that they are the same puzzle.

Cheers,
Burgo.

Would not be same (really) if top and bottom faces had pictures on them. (Or something like Stefan Pochmann supercube stickers ... )

It would still exactly be the same resolution. No difficulty added, no resolution changed, not worthy to buy both of them.
