Hey Twisty Puzzlers!

It's been a while since my last new puzzle, due to the insanity that is senior year of engineering school. Well, I am very pleased to present my newest puzzle:

The MegaTwist

The MegaTwist is a shape-transformation of a Megaminx, kind of like on my Twisted Starminx, but different in one important way. Instead of twisting one side clockwise and one side counterclockwise, I twisted both sides counterclockwise. This produced a much more visually appealing shape, in my opinion.

I designed this puzzle on SolidWorks, printed it in White Strong and Flexible from Shapeways, dyed it with Rit Dye, and stickered it using CubeSmith vinyl that I cut on my university's laser cutter. Thank you to Oskar for helping me "unfold" or "flatten" the twisted surfaces in Rhino.

The puzzle is now available for only $99 on Shapeways. Please email me with your order number immediately after ordering, so that I can send Shapeways the correct parts.

I think that a twisted tuttminx sounds like a good idea! :lol:

That looks pretty nifty.

Side note: I hope you don't cut too much vinyl at a time, as it can damage the laser engraver.

Nice puzzle! You also Fishered the Megaminx, correct? Great work though, it looks really nice. I can't wait to see where the 'twisted' concept goes.

Kind of... It started out normal, but I twisted the top and the bottom the same amount as I would to Fisher it. The middle, however, is the same as a normal Megaminx.

When I saw the thread title I am scared, I thought, another puzzle I can not do ..

Reality it is not, I had the same name as one of my projects, but it is a different puzzle.
