*sob* Its so... Beautiful.
*wipes eyes*. Very well made. How does it turn? I mean with lockups due to pieces rotating.
And which gigaminx is it most related to? C4U desingn, MF8 design, erm... The guy who made one a few years ago on shapeways? Or original?

Holy Whoa! Most impressive indeed. I'm having some difficulty figuring out which piece would be the center piece on a gigaminx face though.

I don't really know the difference between the MF8 and C4U gigaminx mechs.... I would be willing to post pictures of the pieces if you would like to see. I don't think there is any overhang bandaging. I will only be sure when I do a full scramble. Thanks everyone for all the compliments!

Truly a lovely puzzle... shapemods seem to be popular lately, and yours is one of the best I've seen. Awesome job.

-Eitan Nope. Just like on a hexaminx, it's a simple shape mod of a gigaminx. Bandaging, thankfully, is not possible (unless the puzzle was designed with pieces fused together, of course).

Brilliantly beautiful, well done. Have you considered opening your own Shapeways shop? I think you'd do rather well if you did.

It's actually easier for me to tell how pieces correspond to pieces on a gigaminx when I see it scrambled. I wish you the best of luck solving that beast.
Edit: Oh wow, I just realized...the centers & surrounding pieces will need to be oriented...

deffinatly NOT the worst desicion! Have fun solving it! You are the creator after all. I think it's kind of sad when creators dont even try to solve their own puzzles.

An example of this would be a Pryaminx Crystal... its exactly the "overlap" of these megaminx corners that is creating these new edge pieces. That said... just because its possible that doesn't mean this puzzle has it. Carl

I know this comment is really late but...awesome! someone actually built a giga-version of the hexaminx. I believe solving this is like a super 5x5x5 edit: super gigaminx, what am i saying

Wow both the solved and scrambled puzzle look amazing. Would not mind having this one! NType3 wrote: Bandaging is possible on every puzzle. You are talking about regular bandaging, fusing two or more pieces together to make one. Overhang bandaging means that two extended pieces bump into each other during a turn, blocking the move.

No, I'm well aware of both, and both are possible on every puzzle. It can hardly be called the same puzzle, though.

Thanks! I really would like to put a few of my puzzles on shapeways for people to buy and I think I have 1 or 2 puzzles that I think would be good candidates for this.

A friend of mine (non cuber) thinks that this is impossible and has to have been done with magnets. Can you show enough of the mechanism to prove him wrong?

well it has the same mechanism as the gigaminx. also I have sold the puzzle so any pictures would have to be taken from solidworks.
