This is my first mod that I'm actually proud of! It's a sticker mod of a Megaminx, done with Letraset instant lettering. (My dad's old employer gave him a giant box of the stuff for free.) It's basically a Shepherd Megaminx, but the different sized triangles and colours combine so it looks really nice when scrambled. I'll put this one up on eBay later today. (The Letraset WILL come off if you scratch it - so if you keep your cubes in broken glass for some reason, keep this in mind) Meanwhile, pictures: Attachment:
File comment: Here is is solved, with some North American coins for scale. (Canadian penny + nickel, American dime)

I used my KO Megaminx (I think it's acceptable to say you used a KO for a mod? if it sells I'll use the money to buy a legit Megaminx).

The auction is up, and it has a matching Marketplace thread: AuctionMy dad spent 10 years in IBM's marketing division and wrote most of the auction info, so it might sound a little odd to you.Marketplace thread

From the perspective of being respectful of the original designer, I'm not sure using it for a mod vs. buying it to play with it are really any different. I have, however, commented on the idea of the Megaminx being KO in the past here. So from that perspective I wouldn't worry too much about the origin of the puzzle used for your mod. I would encourage you to buy a Mefferts Megaminx because it is a the best I know of and he is worth supporting, but I don't think there is anything wrong with others. In fact, all of my hand made Kilominxes (Mass produced now as Meffert's Flowerminx) were built from the PVC stickered megaminx as at the time I couldn't find any Mefferts around (which I would have preferred).
