I have got the files from Clayton one year ago. I think it was designed by Scott Bedard?
Clayton gave me the permission for building and selling.

Whoa- there are three dayan gems, right? I SWEAR this is identical to one of them.

If so, you should contact them about copyright issues.

Concept 11 is the original name and it's made before Dayan Gem III design.

This puzzle looks much cleaner than the original design. Also, has the increased size affected anything other than price and aesthetics, like, did you change/modify the mechanism or anything?

I was about to ask if this was design by Scott does Clayton have the right to give this permissin? I just saw this:

That was my first though as well but as the Concept 11 predates the Dayan Gem III I think its ok on that front. I also believe the 2 mechs are totally different on the inside. Its still the same puzzle on the outside though so I doubt there will be much market for a custom puzzle once the mass produced ones are available.

This is exactly the reason why I placed this thread!!

I will never plan to sell this puzzle!!!!!!!

But I have great doubt if Dayan has the permission for a mass producing. He has to paid Scott or Clayton ofr this. Or I am wrong?

I don't think there is any problem with Dayan offering theirs. Again I think the two mechs are totally different. Theirs has a 6 armed spider for a core... does yours? I'd consider these two independant creations. Granted I said "I think"...

P.S. Where does the 11 in Concept 11 come from? I was thinking it had to do with the number of axes of rotation but this has 7 axes of rotation and 14 turnable faces. Is this something like Scott's 11th design?

I loved the original Concept 11, but this is even better. This size fits it perfectly.

I suppose that the only downside is that it costs more.

Apparently, Clay didn't have a name for it when Scott was designing it, so it was just saved as 'Concept 11' .
