The first Axisminx was a casted puzzle made by Josh B. This one is hand made with plastic sheets, so I guess it is the first hand-made Axisminx. Since I have to finish this puzzle before spring break ends, I kinda rushed a little. So the end result isn't completely satisfying, but I'm still pretty proud to own an Axisminx now. Here are the pictures, enjoy. Attachment:

Wow I think it looks even nicer than the original. Nice job.

how was it made? megaminx -> hexaminx -> hex dipyramid -> axishexaminx ->axisminx? or have I overcomplecated things. I thought that hexaminx ->hex dipyramid would cut off several pieces altogether.
[EDIT] I had a thought, instead could it be done by holding a megaminx vertically from one corner to opposite, and rotating around that axis by 60 degrees?
Very nicely done, I love the unique symmetry of it!

Thanks, everybody! But I can't really take the compliment of it being better than the original which is damn near perfect! @DudeHuLubeDaRubeCube Yeah, that's way too complicated viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20738

My favorite megaminx mod by far. I'd love to see an axis gigaminx.

How are you so good at building puzzles!!! Your puzzles astonish me, and this one is no different. Great work!

I bought the cutting mat from Towerhobbies (I also get my plastic sheets from there). It doesn't really help much with modding except that it prevents me from ruining the table.
