Hi Twisty Puzzles fans,

Hinged Gift Cube is a variation to the original Gift Cube theme. Will Pulford suggested to add hinges. As the hinges keep cube pairs together, the puzzle is solved like a bandaged Rubik's Cube. This makes the puzzle harder to solve than a regular Rubik's Cube. Once solved, the puzzle can be hinged open. The lid of the puzzle stays with the bottom thanks to the hinges.

I'm not much of a solver, so I was wondering, how hard is this type of bandaged cube to solve, compared to a normal 3x3? I mean, how many more steps?

Do you want to solve the puzzle completely, or just open it? If you just want to open it, you only need the top two layers solved. The bottom layer rotates freely when the hinges are in their solved positions, so it shouldn't be too hard to do.

Well, both solutions require you to solve te bandaged two layers, so how hard is that to do?
