All right, someone is gonna make this puzzle sooner or later now that Master Skewb is mass produced. The idea of Octex was conceived by Eitan (pirsquared). So this isn't really a new puzzle, but this one, as far as I know, is the first Octex that doesn't use magnets to hold in those triangle pieces.

And here are the pictures:

For a handmade puzzle, that is absolutely fantastic. I love it, well done! :D

Very nice! I've played with the original Octex, and I can tell you that this looks like a very comparable puzzle in quality. :D

The original has actually started falling apart again, as I accidentally got some of that maru lube inside one of the screw holes, so it's constantly creeping out as you turn the puzzle. I've tried cleaning it many times, and gluing the screw in, but it still slowly works its way out.

Thus, I can guarantee that Zhewei's puzzle is better quality than mine, as it is based on a more stable mechanism. It does not, however have the satisfying click when it aligns, since it doesn't use magnets. But some might think that's a good thing.
