It looks like Polymer Clay, but that would not make sense because you have to bake it to make it hard (which would result in a very squishy cube indeed!)

Im pretty sure that your right, and that the material he used for it is Polymer Clay. on a few of his comments on FaceBook he is talking about baking it.

PS. he also tested it first, to see how the plastic will react to the high heat in the oven.
