Hey Twisty Puzzlers! I would like to present my newest puzzle: Master HeximateAttachment:
File comment: Solved
SANY1310.JPG [ 2.19 MiB | Viewed 3891 times ]
VIDEO!AUCTION!The puzzle is a cubic shape-transformation of the Master Pentultimate. The name "Master Heximate" is analogous to how the Hexaminx is a cubic transformation of a Megaminx. I designed the puzzle on SolidWorks, printed it in WSF from Shapeways, dyed it with RIT dye, and stickered it with CubeSmith vinyl I cut on my university's laser cutter. I would like to thank Eric (gingervergo) for letting me base my mechanism off of his recent Pillowed Master Pentultimate, and also for his suggestion to lube the puzzle with CRC Silicone. It helped so much! More pictures: Attachment:

This is an awesome puzzle, but I don't really like how thin the middle layers are. They look a bit odd. Still, this is absolutely fantastic. Alex

Great accomplishment! I'd like to note though, that when these shape variations of the Pentultimate were invented by Robert Webb, the cubic shape had been named Cubultimate. So I would think Master Cubultimate might be a better name for it.

When I read the title I thought you made a cubic gigaminx
Fantastic puzzle, I love the look and size of it.

What a beautiful addition to your already stellar line of puzzles. This reminds me of gingervergo's royal skewb because of the slim cuts? Good Job Chris

Wow! That looks great Eitan! The Master Pentultimate is my favourite puzzle, and this is a beautiful shape mod of it. But please, stop doing auctions! Please can you put these beautiful creations on Shapeways so we all have the opportunity to buy such a wonderful puzzle. bmenrigh wrote: Ridiculous! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Best thing I've heard today! With regards to Shapeways, I agree it is nice to see my puzzles go to more than just one or two collectors. But with my current status as a college student, it's more economical for me to do eBay auctions at this time. -π (Eitan)

How much longer have you got in college then? eBay auctions are great for you, but not so great for a 14 year old like me. At least if they're on Shapeways I can save up and buy one in my own spare time when I have money.

Part that baseed on Tomz mini pentultimate already. Printing price on shapeways - 270$ It's true. I have no idea why it is expensive. (I had use shall function : not showed in pic.) -JEC-

An amazing cube in so many ways. The Hexaminx is my favorite puzzle bu Tony Fisher, solving the Master Pentultimate for the first time was quite a challenge... And you combine those two great things! Really astounding! This will be a VERY hard puzzle to solve

Great work! Now we just need a cubic Pyraminx Crystal and Cubic Starminx and we will have a set! I love it, considering that Tony's hexaminx is one of my favorite puzzles!

Speaking of a cubic starminx, does anyone have a picture of what one would look like? The starminx is one of my favorite puzzles, and I have searched for a cubic projection but have come up empty-handed. Chris

Funny how it looks almost identical to the Master Heximate.

It appears to me that almost all face-turning dodecahedral>cubic transformations will bear the typical X through the center of the puzzle, but correct me if I'm wrong.
