I haven't seen the latest version, but I can't imagine they would be as bad as those hand cut stickers.

I think I should post this here - demonstration of the Professor Pyraminx prototype to Uwe Meffert on June 27, 2010 in Cologne (photo by Geert Hellings). Attachment:

On the picture you also can find prototypes of the Master Pyraminx and the Master FTO (in the box).

I've just gotten off the phone with Uwe and it's that time of year again. The dreaded Chinese New Year! Puzzles ordered will be sent until the 2nd of February, but then again not until after the 14th. (Everything is closed) So why here? Why now? A newsletter will be coming out soon with something like this in it. I want to add, that he has made a very small run of these, and when they are gone, they are gone. This is a costly one, and well, not for solving quickly. He is considering white, but that all depends on how fast, and if these sell out. If they don't, he won't. ( I know that sounds almost like a threat, but it's not. These small runs are incredibly costly! I can't do it!) This is also the last set of florescent vinyl labels he has. The company that produces the material has stopped making one of the colors, so unless they start again, there will be no more. It's not by choice of Meffert's but by the vinyl manufacturer. But look on the bright side! All my original Meffert's puzzles will increase in value because of those old stickers!

Just ordered one! I can't wait to get it. Thanks to Uwe, Timur, et al. for their work! It seems that I've been behind on the last few Meffert's puzzles. Now I have to see how my budget will allow for me to catch up The "very small run" always gets me Ben

Has anyone noticed the big rendering of the master pyraminx on the table in front of Uwe? Isn't it looking good? bmenrigh wrote: Konrad wrote: alaskajoe wrote: "Prototype of the Master Face Turning Octahedron"?This just gives me ghoose bumps. From what I can see on the picture it is a 4.1.5. But you can see the pic too and don't need me to tell you that. Although it can only be seen when the pic is enlargened. Still I am pretty sure.

From what I can tell those are simply Shim's own prototypes, and that picture is one of the pictures from Shim's shapeways page. Nothing to get excited over yet, as it doesn't prove anything. However I'd definitely love if the Master-FTO came into production

I ordered both the professor pyraminx and the mosaic cube. Quite some money yet again, but it's probably worth it!

Does anyone know what this means? Meffert's Newsletter wrote: The Prof. Pyraminx is the start of a special valuable Collectors series consisting of four unique new concept Pyraminx Puzzles which will all be released during 2011.

Can someone post a video that shows the turning quality of the production version? From what I saw of the prototype(s?), I don't think I would buy one.

A new meffert's puzzle speculation will begin. Maybe more Timur's puzzles like Triamond or Tom's Tetrahedral Twins? The conception of Pyraminx Puzzle is confusing, it's hard to judge wether a puzzle is or not.

Also, seeing as there were six but now five colours, puzzles like the tetrahedrons wouldn't have been really affected. The numbers of available colours had already decreased over the years.

Burgo, did you get the florescent stickers or the german vinyl stickers, and how soon did you order it? I ordered mine from Jades Club the day it became available, so I will probably be bummed out if I don't get the florescents, as this is the last puzzle that will ever have them...

I got fluorescent stickers and I ordered on the 22nd January, so you should get the fluorescent stickers.

As I said above I ordered on the 19th and did not get them. So much for orders being processed in the order they were placed.

Anyway, I'm willing to pay $84 plus shipping for one. That's double the price. Did you order from the Jades Club? I literally placed my order through Jades less than an hour after recieving the newsletter in my inbox, despite it was available online for about 12 hours prior to the newsletter. I would certainly hope that the incidence of fluorescent stickers is not merely a lucky crap-shoot. Meffert specifically stated in the newsletter that the fluorescent stickered ones would be shipped out on a first-come basis.

Like I said somewhere above (actually in the other topic, I didn't realize that focus has shifted back to the older topic) I ordered at 12:55 PM EST on January 19th through the Jade Club (as a VIP+ member). This was long before the newsletter went out (if I recall correctly). I was probably one of the first to place an order for one.
I've got my reasons for really wanting one with these stickers. Part of that is fueled my feeling of being screwed over by not getting them in my order even though people who ordered 5 days later did get them.
Am I being obsessive about this? Yes, I am!

The newsletter hit my inbox around 12-something am (Central Time). Placed my order about 35 minutes later, so my order submitted probably 12-13 hours after yours did. This is not good news for me to hear I am still waiting for mine to arrive. As you are also in the United States (I'm assuming based on your time zone), hopefully I receive mine very soon. Why don't you offer up to trade yours, plus compensation, in exchange for another member who did get them?

I have placed the order on January 20th, (Paypal confirmation at 22:06 German time) through jadesclub.org. I have received it on February 16th with fluorescent stickers.

This was already addressed in this thread (since it has to do with shipping of the Professor Pyraminx ). A bit confusing with two parallel active threads about the same puzzle.

Mine arrived today (well, I actually had to pick it up at the post office) and it was ordered via the normal Meffert's site, but luckily it still came with fluorescent stickers. The turning quality is fantastic, but some of the stickers are slightly mis-aligned, but nothing that I can't fix.

I even hope I'll get mine with normal stickers. I don't like the flourescent ones really much and never have. Plus I just recently got cubesmith stickers for a skewb ultimate and a normal skewb. Both meffert's products where I removed the flourescent labels. I just after learned that they wouldn't be produced any more and will probably gain value from than on. But I don't care much since I don't have my puzzle to sell them one day. So the prof pyraminx would look much better among all other puzzles without the flourescent lables. I was already thinking about putting normal stickers on them. When I heard most of the prof pyraminxes will have normal labels I was happy with it. Alex got one with flourescent labels who would like to have the normal ones but just won't swap because it would take another two weeks. But maybe you can convince him.

Somebody should merge them, or we should agree which one we want to continue. Merging would be confusing as the ordering would be interleaved. But while the shipping thread seems to still have activity, I'm not sure there is much more to say in this announcement thread. So perhaps the best solution is to just let this thread go dormant and follow the shipping thread. Dave

I reserved mine on the second they were up for reserve live on Jade+VIP site. I then ordered the puzzle the same second I got the actual email saying I could order them. I received my puzzle in registered mail on February 22nd and had the plain old boring german vinyl stickers. I am really bummed out and thought I should definately have gotten the fluorescent stickers. I am not mad, just really dissappointed. However, the puzzle is incredibly awesome!!!!!!
