Hi Twisty Puzzles fans,

Twisty puzzles and sliding-piece puzzles are more related than you might expect. Everybody knows the classic sliding Fifteen Puzzle and the ever popular twisty Rubik's Cube. The Twist & Slide puzzle combined twisting and sliding in one puzzle. Slidey 2x2x2 is a twisty puzzle, based on pieces sliding through grooves.

Sliding Cube is yet another example of a sliding-piece puzzle in three dimension. The puzzle is a 2x2x2 cube with 23 tiles sliding around the cube. As the square tiles can slide over edges, they can change orientation. This makes it harder to solve than regular two-dimensional sliding-piece puzzles.

Watch the YouTube video.
Buy the puzzle from my Shapeways Shop.

Enjoy!

It looks like "15" game but on sphere, right?

Wow! Very nice!

It seems like the black ring would provide quite a bit of difficulty!

Does this puzzle have muliple solved states? Like, could two opposite faces completely switch?

I love the concept here! IMO It's better than the Twist and Slide by far. I also like the look of the raised ring, I'm not sure why though. BTW this kind of reminds me of the series of GB puzzles below in that each tile makes an eighth turn around the inner 'sphere'.

Interesting concept. Does the puzzle still rotate like a 2x2x2?

What an interesting idea. I'd like to see a version in which the black parts are tracks for a ball like sliding puzzle, like Vergo's Cube.

I love this puzzle Oscar.......will you be making a 3x3 version?

and when is this or the twist and slide getting mass produced??

Seriously, toy producing companies, i mean, come on!

Edit: i really like Sebuver's idea of adding a track with balls as the 2x2 seems just a little too easy.
