I just got a new puzzle today from AJ. I want to tell all of you that for a kid that's only been building puzzles for around 6 months, he's amazing! This puzzle is as smooth as silk. It turns wonderfully, and looks as good in person as it does in pictures

If you want a great puzzle, I would recommend AJ. I know I'll be posting another order soon. I forgot to tell Smaz which one I wanted today. Since AJ has only posted a few here, and I'm not good enough at reading Chinese, I can't find the link now.

My pictures don't do this justice, but I am posting a few mid-turn so you can see it is indeed a cut and paste and not a cast or manufactured puzzle! Overall, it's a nice addition to my collection. (It's 10 pm, no light and no flash-dark pictures)

The puzzle unmucked.

Two edges-notice the pasting.

A close up of one internal edge.

The edges have been sanded smooth, and they have no overhang. Yes, you can see where he added the plastic, but there is no catching on it so it is just cosmetic inside. Even more amazing to me is that he cut all the stickers by hand. They are absolutely perfect! As good as any machine cut puzzle. A job well done from a new builder. Watch out guys! He's on your tails.

*good lord those pictures are fuzzy! I must be shaking from all that unhealthy milk I've been drinking

I've been following AJ's work on the mf8 modding forum. He has his own separate section there, and quite rightly so. His mods are in the same league as John Lin - super quality stuff.

Fuzzy due to milk shake.

having only seen pictures, I can't make a good comparison. What I really liked about AJ's is that he has finished the insides. All the pictures I've seen of the insides of John's stuff are unfinished. Not to say John isn't a good builder.
If AJ could get those glue lines to hide  He'd be truly amazing.

aren't the glue lines almost signature though, and remind you that it has in fact, been custom made?

I'm glad you like it, to complete the puzzle, with a two-week plan was originally not so long, because during the day to work, can only be produced at night. Some stickers there are some small bubbles, but don't worry, it will disappear over time.

Time isn't a problem for me. Well, not when I haven't prepaid. I've been waiting a year on one from Smaz

The bubbles he is referring to are very minor. There are only one or two stickers with them. Not sure why it happened though.

I've seen some of his other puzzles, his finish is very clean. I hope one day I can build puzzles as well as he can.

I agree. While I understand casting a puzzle is difficult (I've attempted and failed twice), I still think hand making is more valuable. Those lines remind/authenticate that it's been hand made, and not cast/mass produced.

I wasn't saying those glue lines were bad. I was trying to say, that was the only flaw I could find with the puzzle. It's insignificant. I like it. I wouldn't have bought it if it were rubbish.
