Pictures of my new 3x3x1 puzzle.
I have a good design idea, but, as usual, it is time consuming. So, I am leaving it for the summer. The idea of the puzzle originates from Wayn's Domino project. So simple modification, that I was in doubts - is it worth to make it at all. But recently I bought a cheap cube, which turns very well. Corners are open, walls of cubelets thin, so it is difficult, or impossible, to give it a look of a solid puzzle. I used reflective vinil stickers, puzzle is good enough to keep it in my collection. I tested it on my wife and daughter. As an entry level puzzle for kids it is quite good. It is as plesant to play with as a real Rubik's cube and joy of success is much closer :-)
