这款魔方很早就有量产过,但我与别人合作开发的这款octahedron魔方结构是不一样的,应该不算是KO产品。

Is this the Cubeforyou one, or are there two versions coming out?

This is great though, I always wanted a magic octahedron! :D

B E A... utiful!
The day it will actually be out will be kind of an important day in the history of twisty puzzles. The puzzle itself is really "important" and MANY wanted to have one for a looong time. It was possible to get one, I know. Scot made really good ones that were really affordable for custom made puzzles with such a high quality. But now it will be back in stock. Who would have thought a couple (or more) years ago, that this day would ever come again? I am happy about this. :D

Nope. This is an axis turning puzzle. FTO's do face turning.
That would be a cool puzzle for someone to build tho. :)

My two cent's worth: It turns nicely when you can get the pieces to line up. The big hole in the middle between parts causes lots of room for catching in the middle of a turn. It took me just over an hour to get the tension right so the screws didn't fall out. These are very long! If you over tighten one side, it makes the other side pop out  I think the springs are too big as well, but that might be just because I was trying to put it together left handed and don't have the strength in that hand  Once put together, minus the catching, it turns very smoothly with out any of that terrible lube stuff. It's made of very nice material.

There was very little flash on it, so no sanding down needed. The DIY kit doesn't come with instructions so thank you so much for posting your pictures on here! I wouldn't have worked it out otherwise.

The old octahedrons are a lot smaller. For the $15, it's worth it. I'm sure no one would ever be able to speed solve it.

I'll post a few pictures once I get the black one together.

Speed solving doesn't mean "omg need to do 20 turns a second", it's just solving as fast as you can. Anything can be speed solved.

Your definition then could imply that I can take 3 hours to solve it and call it speed solving.

Smaz looked at mine yesterday and fixed it. Seems it was assembled wrong. Turns much better now that he's fixed it.

If it's a Petaminx you're referring to (especially the cruddy C4U brand), I'd say that's a fair time

Rox,

It's hard for me to tell by the photos, but are the FTO and the new Magic Octahedron practically the same size? I can see clearly by the photos that it is bigger than the original, but the orientation of the FTO is different. I ordered mine on mf8, so I will find out anyways. It would be really cool if they are the same size! :solved: :scrambled:

Kudos in advance to the first person to combine the FTO and Magic O puzzles into one!

Why's that a problem? Speed solving is just trying to solve as quickly as you can, even if it takes you a long time. It's more about wanting to be fast than about how fast you actually are :)

我有我購買的黑色版本關閉立方體你。事實證明很好,我不能更滿意。

(I have black version i purchased off cube for you. it turns very well and i could not be more satisfied with it.)

此外,我愛這一難題是如何工作過一個 3x3的核心。對於那些想知道,這是一個同樣大小的臉轉向八面體。

(Also, i love how this puzzle works off of a 3x3 core. for those wondering, it is the same size as the face turning octahedron. )
