Is there any theoretical limit to how massive magics can get? Also, what kind of monetary and time investment goes into building such a colossus?

There is no theoretical limit on how big they get. However, it will eventually get to the point where I can no longer solve it sitting down (or by myself). It also gets more difficult to design the inserts as it gets bigger because you have to calculate the solutions and placement/orientation so I can print them back to back. As for the amount of time it took me to build this, a few hours to create the initial solution, about an hour to make the templates, and the time it takes to watch Star Wars Episode 2 to constuct it.

Awesome, is the method more or less the same for each different one but altered slightly or repeated? Or did you have to work out a method yourself? (I'm not a magic kind of guy.)

The design process is similar with all my magics. I have a prototype magic (seen in one of the videos above) made out of junk tiles that I use to test the solutions so I just pick my starting spot, pick my parodies, and pick my solution, then design the tile inserts based on the start and the solution.
