Fantastic work. Given that it's *just* a "simple" face turning rhombic dodecahedron, I imagine that you only needed a twelve armed spider with centers holding the shallow faces. And even if it is true that the geometry of the design seems to make jumbling almost inevitable, I still have to say I love the design.

could we get a size comparison? I'd really like to know the size of this thing!

Thanks for all the comments! Jared wrote: Was this based off the previously posted design? Nope. I was a little miffed when MaxXimum13 posted his design last week. It's nice to be the first to have built it, though. Jin H Kim wrote: Fantastic work. Due to the geometry of the mechanism, the jumbling moves can only go so far. I'll show this in the video. I would be interested in a mathematical analysis of this thing. Maxx's version is most likely unstable, and it's only the size of a 3x3, which seems too small to me, but it's the only rhombic dodecahedron available to the public, so I think I'm going to print it anyway.

beautiful puzzle, beautiful size, beautiful rotation! And I imagine it to be quite difficult too!

Being it a three layered FTRD, I can't agree more. Jin H Kim wrote: Fantastic work. Eitan, you must show the mechanism! I'm curious about how you were able to do this (presumably without a layered mechanism).
