Over the past year I've been both a builder and a collector, though while building I find myself hard to stick to just one project so most of them are incomplete still... I finally took the time to dedicate to one puzzle and chose to complete the one I started first.

Here we have it, a Hexagonal Dipyramid! This puzzle is hand made from a Rubik's 3x3 using apoxie sculpt and the stickers are hand cut using oracle vinyl. It looks beautiful in person and functions fairly well, though if a DIY type A core/centers were used I'd assume it'd be smoother. I have yet to lubricate it at all, so we'll see. Either way, I am proud of the results! It was a good learning experience that will definitely help me on future puzzles!

Very nicely done!

It looks a little curved on the cut surfaces. I imagine that is from not entirely flat sanding. What helps me is to attach my sandpaper to a sturdy, hard, flat table, and sand in a way that I can only describe as robotic. Make sure you concentrate on keeping your movements straight. That way, you will get a much flatter surface.

I look forward to the rest of our as yet incomplete mods!
