Although I know about the Okki Gem, I don't know if this one's been done before. It's made from an Eastsheen keychain with styrene plated extensions glued on. On the downside, it has a flimsy cheapish feel to it. On the plus side, it turns quite well and the shape changing nature makes it a bit more challenging to solve than a regular 2x2x2. Technically, couldn't you call it "solved" no matter where each color is in relation to each other?

It looks fantastic. I haven't seen a single mod from you that wasn't perfect Justin.

Yes. With reference to the first pic, it rotates around the equator, giving it 4 solved states that are one quarter turn apart. Only using half turns across the equator will keep the shape whilst scrambling the colours (as in the 2nd pic).
