Just a Meffert's-style 3x3x3 bandaged cube pattern within a 4x4x4 Eastsheen. I haven't had much time to do any modding lately due to work commitments, but I did manage to get this done earlier today. Not too sure if it's been done before. The cube has been well used and has become very loose, so I thought I'd put it to some use. Scrambled Time for a break and a quick game of Eastsheen Space Invaders...

Very cool and very nicely done! I'm a big fan of 4x4 mods. If this has been done before, I haven't seen it.

What's solving it like? I'd love to see some movement on that thing. Vids?

PaulWozniak wrote: What's solving it like? I'd love to see some movement on that thing. Vids? I haven't scrambled it yet in the finished form. I'll post a picture of it scrambled sometime soon. I had a brief go at solving it pre-build when it had cardboard bandages on, to test whether it worked out ok. The bandaging is not too restrictive on moves available and shouldn't be too hard to solve. I'll probably end up being proved very wrong on that one There's no point in posting a video, as the bandaging has no effect on the turning quality - it still turns like a worn out Eastsheen. Thomas "Just" the one corner. I'm not sure if it would be usable with the reverse side bandaged in the same configuration. It's easy to check by adding cardboard bandages - I'll try this later. If it does work, I have the option of adding it to this cube at a later date. I suspect too many turns will be blocked. If it works, it would look quite interesting - a siamese bandaged 3x3x3 encased in a 4x4x4.

Ahhh. The famous 20700020000408500-variant with 16 symmetries. No, it hasn't been done before. Well done! QUINBLZ wrote: pretty awesome. id love to make one, too bad 4x4s are so expensive You can buy them for 9,99EUR if you purchase at least 200...

What is a good way to bandage things? (supplies etc) Andreas: Hello again old fellow. Know of any other, interesting badages I could maybe try? (if I get round to it)

(if I get round to it) You can do anything from using sticky tape, supergluing pieces and tiling (cubesmith uncut tiles sheets), or gluing the pieces and refine the gap between the rounded edges of the pieces with sandpaper, epoxy, etc. before stickering.

I like the awesome stickering. Another cool way to bandage the 4x4x4 would be to stik all the groups of four centers together Sjoerd

(if I get round to it) For bandaging a 4x4x4 I use super glue and Apoxie to fill the gaps as good as I can. My most preferred bandagings are the most symmetrical ones. There are two of them: -990099C9390900029436C264264 The AI-Cube shown in the link Bounb posted. -8100000060606060000008100 Hidetoshis Face Bandaged cube http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=7676Both have no more than 2 symmetric variants.

Then go for 990099C9390900029436C264264 and ask again afterwards.

And if you extend the edges and corners (maybe with Giant 3x3x3 pieces), you can make it proportional!
