Interesting. I knew it was only a matter of time. I wonder who is going to make the first "OMG THE BUMP CUBE HAS A KEYCHAIN AS A CORE!" thread.

Cool. Up until now all I've known is that it used "some sort of railing system" which isn't very specific.

Thanks for sharing this info. How well does the Void Cube turn right out of the box? Is it comparable to a store bought 3x3?

To be honest, it is pretty bad. Although, I think it will be because of the core. I don't think this think will ever be able to cut corners that well. So Drew, what his this inspired you to make?

Thanks for posting this, Drew. I can't believe it's all plastic! I think speculation was that it would have had to be some sort of a metal railing. wow.

Calzone wrote: ...How well does the Void Cube turn right out of the box? Is it comparable to a store bought 3x3? Mine turns amazingly well. it cannot cut corners, but it turns smooth, there is one slightly tighter side, however the rest can easily be rotated with a single finger.

Nice pictures Drew!
I've been thinking about swapping the cosmetic pieces of the Bump Cube to a Void Cube for some time, but after taking a look at the mechanism I think it's not possible(Or least not easy), the thinnest layer of the Bump Cube was shorter than the feet of the corner, and the whole length of the edge piece was needed to cling on to the mech.
Does anyone think that a Void Bump can plausible?(STL designs with custom void mechanism included)

I don't even know if a void 5x5 can be done in a stable manner, so I'll wait on that one =)
I'm thinking a Master Skewb Ultimate for sometimes in the future

Thanks for the pictures. I have been waiting long for the internal structure of Void Cube.

The Rubik's 2x2x2 and 4x4x4 have no springs or metallic internals either, if you consider the whole revenge core as a single plastic part. Silicon/Teflon lube loosened mine up tremendously - I wonder if it would do the same with the void cube???

No need to disassemble, turn 45 deg, spray in little hole in the corner piece, repeat for other faces. It improved turning greatly. Those worrying about corner cutting - this cube will never cut corners, by design. Get some lube in it as I suggest and it will be good.
