Hi, That's what you get, when you turn gear cube into a ball. I was just interested to see if it was possible. I like the way edges and corners turned out hollow patterns. I would like to keep them that way, so it might take me a while to sticker them properly. Vadim

This puzzle would look incredible if it had SmaZ like Dino Cylinder stickers on it. Food for thought.

SWEET! I love the hollow patterns the pieces make! I also like how you can see the round symmetry of the geared edges.

Wow, it looks flawless. Congratulations on making such a perfect looking puzzle by hand!
I agree with Luke, it does look good even without stickers.

katsmom wrote: Very pretty. How do you guys make it so round just by eyeballing it? I am amazed by the skill involved! I second that! This is incredible. I've always liked the "flat" circular gears much more than those that are bent between two different planes, like the standard gearcube edges. I most likely would buy a gear cube ball (if produced) before a cube, due to this. Absolutely beautiful! Chris

Wow, it looks awesome! Quick question, it looks like you had to trim the screws in the edge pieces, or am I mistaken?

Thanks all! I cut the edges with screws off first, then all the corners with my hacksaw. Then it was dremmel job and then cone-shaped sandpaper. I shaved off some of my nails in the process, and covered furniture with plastic dust. Apart from that I was pleased with result. Vadim

How did you make such a uniform and perfect ball??? It is actually far easy to make a spherical puzzle than a spherical piece of wood for example. I can't speak for Vadim but on my puzzles I just keep Dremelling, scrambling the puzzle, Dremelling, scrambling the puzzle etc. Each new scramble reveals some high points which are then removed. The puzzle itself is always showing you where to Dremel.
