Sometimes it is better not to have a choice at all

Getting a bit puzzled as I love both i) to solve the puzzle and then ii) put it on shelf (a-la collection) returning from time to time. So if there is choice, black or coloured?

In one handm, you never need to put stickers on couloured and they never un-stick when you solve it, on the other hand, black is classic and better for the shelf-life. Purchasing two variants seems even more stupid.

Any thoughts?

I think it is better to spend the money on 2 different puzzles, than spending it on 2 same puzzles with different colors.
I prefer puzzles with black body, if black is not available I buy a white puzzle, I dont want too many colors.

This may sound a bit stupid, but i say it all depends on the puzzle. For example if the puzzle is a part of a series of puzzles, i would prefer to have all the puzzles in the series of the same "style" (eg tiles, stickers or coloured).

For example i would prefer to have all my faceturning dodecahedrons black with stickers, and all my crazy cubes coloured. Regarding black or white, i always seem to regret my choice after my purchase. I still wonder how a white helicopter cube or a black tuttminx would feel to play with!

I wish there were more colored plastic puzzles. I like how they look.

That said, I still got a Master Kilominx in black with stickers. Why? Because the internal parts were also colored, so there were more pieces to solve than there "should" have been.

I don't think buying two puzzles of a type is stupid. Some cubes have become very pricey over time (e.g. the Golden Cube variants) and I prefer some white puzzles over the black ones (the Camouflage Cube from AJ looks simply great in white). Besides, I like to have a black collection as well.

So if someone can spare the money, I prefer not to call the idea of collecting different colors as stupid. It's a fun hobby after all.
