The story goes like this... a while back I wanted to add a bump/mirror cube to my collection, so I went on line and bought one. The reviews were all positive, and it was about 9 dollars. I figured I was going to get a quality cube. When it arrived, it felt sturdy and weighty, and the stickers were very good quality. However... once I began twisting and scrambling it, the real issues began appearing.

The cubies are all extremely loose, and the it locks up/catches constantly. It also feels like it's on the verge of popping at all times. I've taken it apart a few times and tried adjusting the tensions, but the screws are in as far as they can go, and it feels the same. I'm able to flip around corner pieces very easily, and on the thinnest layer, I can pry up any piece a good inch. It just feels like a loose, jumbly mess. I went on line and left a very critical review and that was that.

It'd just be nice to get one that's actually good, and feels tight and sturdy, even when mixed up. My friend's cube was much cheaper, and even his is better than what I got. Where could I get one?

Personally, I would go with the original Bump Cube. It may be hard to find but don't settle with a KO, the quality is never as good. You could contact Hidetoshi on this forum. He could arrange a possible buy

Identifying an authentic bump cube can be difficult, as most out there are KO.

The real name is Rubik's Mirror Blocks. Price is a pretty clear indicator: KO bump cubes won't sell for over $20. I have not yet found a US source but here is where they are still available:
