Just got four puzzle rings by Vesa Timonen. Each is made with two identical pieces that twist together in an unexpected way, and each is surprisingly different. Some of you might not call these 'twisty puzzles' but believe me, they're the twistiest puzzles I've gotten in a long time! The orange ring is shown already assembled. Attachment:

I think someone discovered old molds and is now producing these Warner Bros heads again like the Hungarian Supernova new production is based on old molds.

icanhazcheezburger robbed most of their pictures from various sources. Their attempt at "Copyrighted" pictures is laughable.

I was recently browsing the toy section of my local thrift store, looking for some second-hand cubes for modding, when I came across a Lockout puzzle. I did sort of a double-take when I saw it, and was quite surprised when I saw the extreme price of $3.99. Needless to say I snatched it up. It was in very good condition and even came with the original instructions. Hooray for thrift stores!

I get lazy and forget to post in this thread, so here is a summary for this month. Let's start off with some hand built items from forum members: A very pretty three layer puck built by Sven: Next we have two quite nice Hexagonal Dipyramids both built by Kickflip1993: Ah, then IPP happened, and I obtained a few goodies: On the left is the wonderful Hex-1 from our own Mr. Calzone, not an IPP acquisition, but it happened to find its way into this picture. Here we have a Quarks puzzle, all three Bolaris puzzles and an interesting ball puzzle traded from Oscar. In the center we have a four color Dino. Ahhh. I haven't owned one for a few years (I traded mine to Pantazis in 2007) and missed it terribly. When I saw it at IPP I had to trade for it. Continuing on we find the IPP29 special exchange Cubedron (the IPPdron) I earned by helping Pantazis with the exchange (Thanks Pantazis!!!) and in front two of Dave Engle's puzzles. Next we have another puzzle I traded for: I owe Hendrik some nice stuff for this Well once I got my hands on a Dino again I couldn't pass up the opportunity to trade for a few more, and here are two: That's a six color on the left and a Dino stickered on the right. A two color is on the way to complete my set. Boy do I have some building to do for my half of these trades, but August has been a *very* happy month for me on the puzzle collecting front. Enjoy, Dave

io wrote: Dave, I couldn't agree more that August has been a big month for the collection. And a very, very, very bad month for the paypal account. Here are a few more August puzzles I thought were neat enough to share. The Globe is a nice find. It's the one with the paper stickers, isn't it? I had that one ages ago. After the stickers began peeling, I traded it for something more interesting. I have often regretted this. The Missing Link is interesting. On my Tsukuda one there is no black inscription on the upper side. But on the bottom there is a mention of ITC. Tsukuda was a licensed seller of Rubik's products, just like Mako, Arxon and others.

Yes, it's one with paper stickers. I have a smaller version (about the size of a normal rubik's cube), with paper stickers as well, and this one is much larger. Which version did you have? I could take a comparison picture of the two if you like.

Keep the cool stuff coming in guys! I just came back from a Hungarian flea market... I did not find what I expected, besides a binary roulette(???) and a 1983 LCD game I was looking for YEARS! When I reach Australia, I will also post a photo of many IPP exchange puzzles as well as some other puzzles I bought/got at the IPP (almost 180 puzzles!) Now I must get prepared for another long flight (Hungary to Singapore). Pantazis PS. Dave it is nice to see you have acquired some dino cubes! (time for some dino-juggling now? LOL)

Just got more stuff from George Miller... - At left, Vesa Timonen's new Onion puzzle. The puzzle contains 3 spherical layers, which slide around elegantly but I haven't yet figured out how to separate them. Do not eat this puzzle.
- At top center, Oskar van Deventer's 4D puzzle. Oskar has designed a lot of puzzles like this, with parts that traverse multiple labyrinthine paths simultaneously.
- Lower center is George's 14 Dots, an adaptation of the principles of Langford Pairing.
- The box at right contains Blue Balls, the result of a collaboration between George Miller and Vesa Timonen. Each ball has a hole and a curved tail which must fit into the hole on one adjacent neighbor. Not only must you figure out the orientation and position of each ball, you've got to figure out how to assemble all those curves simultaneously.

... but it seems that your Ghost Cube is still scrambled ... Ok, here is the full story LOL David Calvo mixed it up at the IPP, but was too sleepy to solve it (I actually had to wake him up at the Cali meeting, to return to the hotel). David liked it so much that you should be hearing from him soon! Then I solved it during my trip from San Francisco to Frankfurt. Here is a photo in the airplane when it was still scrambled. I am also holding one of the DoTS puzzles which seems to be the dice of the 21st century... more about this, soon, very soon! (and does anyone like my t-shirt? ) Attachment:

In Greece, no one even dared to mix it up, but when I arrived to Singapore for the 1st Puzzle Ninja Meeting, someone (I have no idea who!) mixed it up again! Here is a photo at the beginning of the Puzzle Ninja Meeting, when it was still solved. (on the top left of the photo). More photos to come of the event in the next days. Attachment:

I will probably solve it during my next long flight(s), in December! (right now, I have no time at all, but I will try to take care of everything step by step). Pantazis

A package from Russia arrived today. The most interesting item is the "Rubik Snake" made by Politoys, sold in a cardboard box in Russia. The Russian Varikon box is interesting, too. Attachment:
