I have been looking at these puzzles for years. I finally won the last one from Milan's ebay auction! Thank you so much!

I had no idea that there were any variations of the Rubik's maze! Rox, you reckon you could get some good photos of these for the database?

I'll attempt it. These were taken in the bedroom on a slighlty dirty photo cloth (as you can see) at around 10:30 last night. Massive shadow.
If I take pictures outside, there is a strange bluing that shows up. Inside I have shadows. How do you guys take photos and have them come out so good?

What is causing the blue? You might be getting a bounce off a wall or something.

Lamps are not a great solution unless you have several and decent lamps in them. Personally outside on a cloudy day is best. Inside at night is worst.

What's your camera?

I'll try the cloudy day thing. The blue probably comes from the white walls around the balcony. Remember, I don't have a yard, so if I took my puzzles downstairs to the garden to photograph I'd have everyone and their brother mucking about. Not a pretty thought.
As for inside, I have low wattage lighting throughout the house. around 40 watts per room at best. (except my 1920 bankers lamp it won't run a low watt bulb)

My camera is an Ixus with 5mp and a zoom on it. But recently My husband bought me this camera with a phone, and I think it takes better pictures than the camera. The photos above are from the phone.

My brother-in-law is a photographer and if worse comes to worse, I could go to his studio, but he already thinks I'm nuts, he'd be thinking it's time to call for the wagon to come pick me up if I go waltzing in with a van full of puzzles to photograph!

(And GameCuber101 lamp is just adifferent way of saying bulb.)

I prefer cloudy daylight and I use a tripod to get good pictures.

It might be a white balance thing. It's usually a matter of selecting the right option in your camera. You can see them in the table here. Just scroll down a bit.

If yours is set on Auto, try custom, if not, try Auto first, it might work  The best option, if your camera has it, is custom WB. Just point it at something white/grey to set it and the photos you then take will not have blue/yellow overtones. Don't forget to change back to Auto after you're done, though!

Here's another easy-to-understand tutorial on how to set WB.
