There is a Rubik's Cube on this year's poster for the Festival International des Jeux de Cannes. As always, the colors are almost randomly placed...

Nice stop-motion video with some cubes in it.
The best bit is at the 3:00 minute mark.

I recently came across this political (satire?) website: http://thepeoplescube.com/. I especially like:

On the 7th episode of the 1st season of Touch, there is a Hungarian Supernova in the last scene.

On the 10th episode, there are some puzzles as well. The ones that are apparent: a Rubik's cube, a Pyraminx and a Trajber's Octahedron, which is completely bandaged with triangular stickers.

In Season 4, Episode 13 of Qin's Moon, Ting Ming is given the task of solving a Rubik's Cube as part of his training. By episode's end, we see him speed solve the cube to the astonishment of the gathered Chiefs of the Mohist School.

Also, the Mohist School's Cube is quite awesome between the inset gemstones and having an internal mechanism to make it self-scrambling.

Surprisingly, it had the correct color scheme and (as far as I could tell) was solvable.

Just saw this in the Uk's Guardian Newspaper -

http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Society/documents/2012/06/27/NGOstechnologytoGCv3.pdf

It doesn't actually mention the cube in the article, but I guess he was using it to effect.

You can tell someone was trying to solve it before, but only to got one face, not a layer. :scrambled:

Anyone else spotted Timur's Professor Pyraminx on last night episode of Continuum? :D
I was rather surprised to see one of the less popular twisty puzzles such as this one on TV!

As a kid he was holding a scrambled one, probably just to show us he grew up and became a genius.

just an interesting fact, I can't find a picture of it because I'm not sure how to play the movie on my computer but if anyone else could that would be awesome (the movie came out in 1989 so whoever put it there must have really been a fanatic)

I was just watching Batman (1989) and saw the scene with the Cuboctahedron, it's about 52-53 minutes into the movie.
(I'm rewatching all the previous ones before I see the new one on the big screen :D )

Did anyone else catch the 3 3x3 animations for the best variety series show category? They had a few different things on them as they twisted around and turned. Faces of the nominees and their shows, such as Jon Stewart (who won for the 10th consecutive time), etc. and in the end they just displayed the "VARIETY".

The Discovery channel show Superhuman Showdown showed speedcuber Gabriel Barbar solving some cubes, saying that he was able to solve a cube in 7.8 sec. He also solved 3 3x3s blindfolded in one "look", impressive! They also said that he illustrated all the moves in his head before carrying them out. I dont know if its completely true, but if it is, please prove me wrong :)
