It seems pretty limited compared to the Cubetwist DIY Bandage kit.

I've never seen or heard of this puzzle. If the price isn't significantly lower thaan a CT Bandage kit I can't imagine it would be worth looking into

My guess is it would be more expensive. The design makes it look like it is a bit easier to take the tiles on and off. But that seems like the only advantage.

Less then 3563. This is for sure.
BUT if you allowed "incomplete" markings for the bonds (only one 1x2-tile for a 1x1x2-block) then the number would increase (not beyond 3563), because there are only few bandaged cubes with more than three 1x2x2-blocks.
If you want to find out the precise number you could filter the list for yourself.
