I managed to get an original pyramid puzzler (Pyraminx clone) and it was a good price but one of the ball bearings is missing and the spring is bent up, I wanted to know if there is a way to fix this and how I would go about open it up(even if its just to snip the spring and remove the obstruction).
It would also be good to know so I can clean the insides(which feel dirty and don't turn anywhere near as good as they should)

If it is the one with the gold labels and the pyramid/sphinx on the packaging, just turn the tips left and they should just fall out of the core.

As for cleaning, get one of those toothbrushes from a hotel (you know the cheap ones that are only good for one use) and brush away. They are soft enough not to hurt, and yet firm enough to get the gunk off. Mild dish soap is ok if it is filthy.

And then if you want a nice polish...Listen to me, NOT the boys.

Not only that but I found a Promotional smarties tower of babel type puzzle (The smarties rotor tube) for £1 - about $1.30 (Bringing my total to 2).
It sqeaks a bit and I wanted to clean it too, But I fear for damaging it.

Anyone know how to take this apart safely?

Hunt the forum. There are lots of examples of me cleaning puzzles.
The smarties tube has no paper pieces so all you need is a glass of water with some very mild soap and a toothbrush. (but no one ever listens to me do they )

Dunk it in water for a bit and brush away. It works. I've done it with dominos and the russian flowers......And they are worth a far sight more than a smarties tube.

Just make sure to wrap it after in a nice warm towel so it doesn't catch a cold (and you get out all the water)
