On Lightake, there are 2 Guhong kits:

3x3x3 DaYan GuHong POM Magic Cube DIY Kit Black
and
3x3x3 DaYan GuHong Magic Cube DIY Kit Black

Does anyone know what "POM" means?
Is there any difference to justify the $3.10 higher price for the "POM" version?

I read on speedsolving that the POM is a little weaker, but higher quality plastic with less friction. I don't think it's been out very long.

POM is just another material. Generally the cubes are made of ABS.
POM is harder and heavier, but it can be used for a longer time and turned with less friction. I personally prefer ABS cubes.

what site did you say it was? because I heard that no guhongs were being sold anymore, since dayan vs vcube.

POM is lighter and stronger. It is more expensive than ABS and is generally used as lightweight replacement for metal.

dealextreme.com has also pulled all of their cubes. I bet this is due to PayPal and the GuHong/V-Cube patent issue.
