You're really not supposed to post the link...
Though thanks, I've been wanting to see one.

Forum rules I think. Don't post an ebay auction unless it's your own. Though this would have been found easily anyways.

Seriously, if you join this forum, you should probably check the knockoff policy. If you don't people will get angry :P

AND you're not supposed post links to KOs. Double rule-breaker.

Quote:
4. Active Auctions
In the spirit of fair play, do not post links to active auctions unless it is your auction. Collectors who have been watching the item will get rather upset if you publicly expose what they hoped was a hidden gem.

14. Knock Off Policy
Knock Off products are unauthorised reproductions or forgeries of existing products. Avoid linking directly to pages of sites selling copies of puzzles that are "protected by their rightful owners". Linking to other pages on the same sites is acceptable so long as it serves the community. If you wish for the purposes of dialogue to provide illustration of a copy of a puzzle that is "protected by the rightful owner", copy the image and attach it to your post. This has the added benefit of ensuring the image will always be visible. Do not advertise sites, sales or auctions for copies of puzzles that are "protected by their rightful owners", unless the rightful owner is doing the selling. Users violating the policy will be warned once or twice as is appropriate with temporary bans of exponentially-increasing length on repeat offenses. To see more about the policy: http://twistypuzzles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12721

This is what they are referring to. Pictures are fine as long as they do not contain a link or information to find the product.

P.S. Flaming is also against the rules. Lets be nice.

In my post, I was just letting them know that they should read the knock off policy, along with the other rules. I wasn't trying to make them mad, but anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread.

I was not accusing you or anybody else, but threads like this usually end in angry posts. I was actually surprised that nobody had escalated it, so I added that in hopes of keeping it that way. (Who could be angry with a smiley at the end of their sentence?) :D

Are the knock off fisher cubes you are referring to hand made ones? I've yet to see any factory produced ones on eBay.

No, they are factory produced. There was already a topic like this one but it didnt have pictures only a little bit of info, and this shows that it has spread quick and is now on .....

The other topic originally had pictures but I believe they were linked from a well known KO factory, therefore, they were removed.

PS: You certainly are (well, were) in violation of the rules because you posted to an auction link that was not your auction. Please, review the rules before continuing further. It doesn't look good for you when one of your first fifteen posts violates one of the rules...several, in fact (third and fourteenth of overall rules and first (to a lesser extent) and third bullet points on the KO policy itself). Please, make yourself familiar with them. I'm not trying to be mean...I'm just trying to make you aware. Thanks.

Sorry, but i thought it would be an exception. The pictures here are from ...., not any other site.

We just went out shopping for birthday party supplies and I had to stop by my favorite wholesale shop to pick up a few magic's that I have promised someone and haven't had time to get.

These haven't hit the streets in HK yet. Only via ebay. But, the wholesaler told me they might be available within a month. I have no idea how these sellers get them so quickly, but I can say that the seller in the post above is not from HK. He ships out of the mainland. Funny thing is, he can't send them to HK because of copywrite violations on most of his puzzles. We've had a few emails and he will gladly meet me at the border and hand them over. (not as easy as that sounds-I still need to go through customs & imigration) At an extra charge of course. $29 for a cheap puzzle is not my idea of a good deal.

On to a different puzzle. We found 6x6x6 pillowed cubes today. I would expect them to hit ebay quite soon as well. But my friendly wholeseller said they weren't selling well. People are simply no longer interested in copies is what he told me. Funny that! I've just unboxed it and I have to say, it's a flimsy puzzle coming from the company that produced it, I expected better. The pieces aren't joined together well, and it is very very loose. It has screws to tighten it (I think-that's what they are for) but that doesn't help teh spaces between the pieces. a cheap puzzle at what will probably be a high price.

The issue regarding the factory made Fisher Cubes is being dealt with so I would urge people to hold tight. Do not waste your money on the 'hand made' Fisher Cubes you see on ebay. You will almost certainly regret it.
This thread only advertises knock-off puzzles whether it links directly to them or not.

Plus the thread title and almost every one of Bumrang's posts advertises where to find these KO cubes. I don't know why he has to keep violating 2 forum rules by repeatedly referring to the source. And for such a pointless poll.

This entire thread should be deleted.

I only broke the rule once by mistake and took the link off, not multiple times. And also Ebay is huge, you can find anything there, i think its fine if i say i found it on ...., and im not trying to advertise it, that would be plain stupid. AND the poll was just for fun.
Please lets keep this topic at a friendly level. :|

I wasn't being unfriendly, just pointing out as others have done that this thread still violates 2 forum rules, including the title of this thread. And you've just done it again by referring to the source of the KOs.

Alright boys. Behave!

Bumrang. It really doesn't matter if a puzzle is readily available 100 times over on ebay. If it is not your auction you simply cannot post it.

These guys are trying to help you. Take heed. It's not chastisement. It's help.

While you didn't post the source of the puzzles, you did post a place to purchase them. It's almost as bad.

And did anyone at all read Tony's post? Just wait! He reads like he has news on this for him. Why don't we just wait a bit before we jump the gun and start ordering from ebay or any other source until Tony tells us what he was being vague about 6 posts up  (I do read you know)

Read his post. That's all. I guess I'm just so used to skirting around the edges I think Tony is. I could be wrong, I have been before you know.

Well, I don't think there is anything to talk about. This entire thread pretty much violates the policies that I listed further up.

For this thread to continue at all would violate the KO advertising rules and I'm sure more violations would occur if this was continued further. Can one of the moderators lock this, please?
