The idea of cubic cuboids other than 3x3xn.

If you're a puzzle designer on shapeways or whatever, I think the idea of maybe a cubic 4x4x8 would be great, or other ones too, there's loads of cubic 3x3xn's.

Sorry, I read your first post wrong. I thought you were talking about proportional cuboids (with cubic cubies).
